The sowing of winter grain crops continues in Ukraine, reports the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
As of the end of October, 4 million 211 thousand hectares were sown, namely:
- wheat – 3,733 thousand hectares;
- barley – 403 thousand hectares;
- rye – 76 thousand hectares.
The increase in crops over the week amounted to 362 thousand hectares.
The largest number of winter grains was sown by farmers in the Dnepropetrovsk region – 460.5 thousand hectares.
This week, farmers in the Ivano-Frankivsk region completed the sowing of winter crops. This is already the fifth region in which the winter crop sowing campaign has ended. Before this, the sowing of winter crops had already been completed in Volyn, Transcarpathia, Zaporozhye and Poltava region.
