Exports of agricultural products from Stavropol region increased 1.5 times in 2023
Based on the results of January-October 2023, the Stavropol Territory exported 1.2 million tons of agricultural products, which is 53% more than in the same period in 2022. This was reported by RBC Caucasus with reference to the Ministry of Economic Development of the region.
The ministry noted that the growth in export volumes was equally ensured by the sale of grain products and processed products abroad. In particular, during the reporting period, regional producers supplied 757 thousand tons of grain abroad (in 10 months of 2022, 492 thousand tons were exported) and 493 thousand tons of food products with high added value (in 2022 – 306 thousand tons) .
The volume of exports of confectionery products, flour, cereals, starch, mineral water, sugar increased by 40%, to 211 thousand tons, pasta, animal feed – 2.2 times, to 115 thousand tons, meat and dairy products – by 35%, to 90.3 thousand tons (mainly due to the export of poultry meat), oil and fat products – by 22%, to 46.2 thousand tons. It is noted that the largest importers of food and processing industry goods produced in Stavropol region are Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, China, Iran, Syria, Cuba.
As RBC Caucasus reported, in the Stavropol Territory in January-September 2023, the volume of supported exports amounted to $72 million.
In particular, the Stavropol Export Support Center provided assistance to more than 460 small and medium-sized enterprises during the reporting period, of which 50 entered into export contracts totaling $7 million. In addition, over 550 regional enterprises were supported by the Russian Export Center. The volume of supported exports for nine months amounted to $65 million.
